1. Booking

The first step in the process is booking the shipment with the freight company. This can be done via phone, email, or online platform. The client will provide the details of the shipment such as the origin, destination, weight, and dimensions. The freight company will then schedule a pickup with the client, either at the client’s location or at a designated pickup point.

2. Transportation

Once shipment has been cleared and received at origin point it will be loaded onto the relevant vessel, aircraft or truck and placed in transit.

Shipment will be tracked from origin to destination and regular updates are provided so that you are always aware of the location of your cargo.

3. Customs Clearance

An import customs clearance is required to be completed for international shipments being shipped over country borders prior to arrival into the country of destination.

R Melling has two in house Customs Brokers who will arrange to complete the clearance of your imported goods arriving in Australia.
They will deal directly with all local government authorities to ensure compliance with current import regulations.

4. Delivery

Once goods have been released ready for delivery, depending on shipment type we will arrange appropriate transport to your required delivery point.
For larger full container load shipments, we can also offer deconsolidation services at our unpack facility and delivery of loose cargo.
